What cloud storage services does Square Orb Gallery support? +
Square Orb Gallery supports cloud integration with both Google Photos and Adobe Creative Cloud. Google Photos connects via OAuth 2.0 and provides an interactive Google Photos Picker for selecting and sideloading photos directly into your WordPress Media Library. Adobe Creative Cloud connects via OAuth on the Authentication tab, with direct Lightroom media browsing and import currently scheduled for the upcoming v1.2 release.
Can I use Square Orb Gallery without connecting a cloud account? +
Yes. Cloud import is completely optional. You can select images directly from your WordPress Media Library inside the Square Orb Canvas block and build galleries without connecting any cloud accounts.
How do I manage the layout of my galleries? +
Configure site-wide defaults in Square Orb > Presentation Defaults for layout style, column count, spacing, heading styles, and lightbox behavior. When the Master Override Switch is disabled, individual gallery blocks can override those defaults with block-level settings inside the Gutenberg sidebar.
How do I reset a gallery block to global defaults? +
Open the gallery block in the editor and click Clear Canvas Overrides in the block sidebar under “Reset Options”. This removes any local overrides and restores the current global settings for that gallery.
How does the “Master Override Switch” work? +
When enabled, the Master Override Switch (located under Presentation Defaults) forces every Square Orb Gallery block on the site to strictly inherit your centralized presentation defaults, disabling per-block style overrides. However, content-level values like your selected images and custom heading text remain per-block.
Why don't I see the Analytics tab in the Control Panel? +
The Analytics tab is conditionally rendered to keep your admin menu clean if you do not track metrics. To enable it, navigate to Square Orb > Global, toggle on Enable Engagement Telemetry, and save settings. The Analytics tab will appear immediately.
Can I add headings to my galleries? +
Yes. Square Orb supports gallery headings with customizable HTML tags (h2 through h6 or p), theme inheritance or Square Orb typography presets, and an optional divider line. You can enable headings globally under Presentation Defaults and customize the text individually within each block’s sidebar.
Can I protect my images from being downloaded? +
Yes. Square Orb Gallery includes Right-Click Protection for gallery items and lightbox images, as well as an automatic, non-destructive PNG Watermarking Engine that stamps generated intermediate image sizes while keeping your original master files pristine.
Does the gallery support image metadata? +
Yes. Square Orb Gallery automatically extracts and displays EXIF metadata such as camera model, aperture, ISO, focal length, and shutter speed in the lightbox. You can toggle this globally or per block.
Is the plugin responsive? +
Yes. All five layouts—Grid, Masonry, Justified, Carousel, and Interactive Map—adapt responsively to mobile viewports. For grid layouts, you can define separate Mobile Columns (1–4) and Desktop Columns (auto-fill or 3–6).
Can I add videos to my gallery? +
Yes. In the block editor sidebar, each image item contains a “Video URL” input where you can paste YouTube, Vimeo, or direct MP4 links. In the lightbox, videos take priority and play with optional autoplay.
How do I update my gallery after adding new photos to Google Photos? +
Navigate to Square Orb > Import Media, relaunch the Google Canvas Picker, and select your new photos. Sideload them to WordPress Core, then add them to your gallery block in the editor.
Do changes in Global Defaults affect existing galleries? +
Yes—unless a gallery block has local overrides enabled. Blocks without overrides inherit updated global defaults immediately, while blocks with overrides retain their custom settings until the overrides are cleared.
